“GCMHP Hosts Specialized Workshop on the MHPSS Minimum Service Package”

  • Previews 56

GCMHP hosted a specialized training workshop at its headquarters in Gaza City regarding the Minimum Service Package (MSP) for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS). The workshop was conducted by the MHPSS Technical Working Group, with the participation of representatives from various local and international organizations operating in the field.

The workshop aimed to enhance knowledge and shared understanding of the MSP, introducing its components and highlighting its importance in planning and designing MHPSS interventions. This ensures that services align with the needs of target groups and the nature of the required interventions.

Training sessions covered the key components of the MSP and mechanisms for its use and application in the field. Discussions also addressed its role in determining appropriate services and interventions, as well as supporting organizations and practitioners in developing programs that better respond to the psychosocial needs of the population.

Furthermore, the workshop provided a valuable platform for participating organizations to exchange experiences, discuss challenges associated with implementing the MSP in the field, and explore ways to promote its use as a common reference. Such efforts contribute to enhancing the quality of interventions and improving coordination and integration among entities working in the MHPSS sector.

Organizing this workshop is part of the ongoing efforts by the MHPSS Technical Working Group and GCMHP to build the capacity of organizations and practitioners, advance professional practices, and support the delivery of high-quality psychosocial services that effectively address the growing needs in the Gaza Strip.
